Photography School in Prescott - I'll admit, what I teach is far from what you should learn in a 'photography school,' but, this is an okay keyword and I'm going to use it. Hey, small business owners such as myself need all the marketing and advertising help we can get!
So, what I'm going to teach is more of a one day seminar. I'm still looking at a six hour course; one hour of 'classroom' introduction material, then four hours out on the trails in the woods learning how to be aware and take accurate photographs, then an hour to wrap it all up. Done! Personally, I think four hours out in the field is plenty of time. But, we'll see, once I run some beginners through the class or seminar. I may need to extend the amount of time, or, add another day.
So, as to owning and operating a photography school in Prescott Arizona, I think that title is a bit dramatic, but what the heck. I'll do my best to assist others and get them taking those exceptional photographs you see on Pinterest and in magazines.
Okay, enough for now. If this interest you, please pick up the telephone and call me for further information at: (928) 273-8666 and I can provide you with all the details.

Landscape Photos In Prescott Arizona
Here are a couple landscape photos in Prescott - I'll be posting a bunch of information in regards to this topic here on this blog post. I will also be be posting pictures and then asking you how you would get better angles, lighting, etc., etc., on each picture. Remember, this is what my seminar is all about. The picture below was taken from down in a creek looking up the side of the mountain as the sun was fading. There are many different ways to shoot this picture, and this is what I teach in my photography guide in Prescott Arizona seminar.
I'm not going to teach you how to work your camera, or how to spend hours in PhotoShop 'doctoring' up your images. You can learn that somewhere else. I'm here to teach you, in person, how to get that great shot. That's what exceptional landscape photos in Prescott all have in common. That unique subject you choose to photograph. Then, the correct angle, or angles. Then, lighting. That's what we will work on in person; each and every one of you. The image below is an interesting one. If you were with me, how would you angle the photo? I was hanging off the edge of the mountain to get that shot. Not difficult, but need to be somewhat mobile to get the good landscape photos in Prescott Arizona.
The image below is similar to the first one above, just a different section of the woods. Again, sunset coming through the trees as I am down in the creek shooting up the side of the mountain. This is the fun part (well, it's all fun!) of shooting landscape photos in Prescott Arizona. Getting outside and shooting pictures!
I don't have time right now to cover all of this, as I'm still putting together all the specifics of the seminar. The seminar will be a one day course, probably six hours. Having fun will be our number one priority, because in my opinion if you are not having fun, why are you doing it?
Enough for now. I'll get to 'filling in the blanks' on all these empty blog posts in due time. If you are interested in my photography guide in Prescott Arizona seminar, how to significantly improve your angles and lighting for the perfect image, give me a call at my phone number listed below.

Photography Guide Kristopher Kelley
Hello and Welcome to my photography blog!
Photography guide Kristopher Kelley will assist you in regards to how to raise your awareness to get the best shots possible. We will spend at least four hours out in the woods on a pretty easy trail, getting you familiar with how to raise your awareness. For all the details on this, please feel free to visit this page for the specifics: Photography Guide In Prescott Arizona.
It doesn't matter what kind of camera you have, lenses, etc., etc., if you aren't aware of your surroundings! I'll teach you this, easily, in just one day. And, you'll have a ton of fun in the process! Oh, and don't worry about all the 'settings' on your camera, or Photoshop, etc. This class isn't about that. We can work on that another time. (But yes, I will ensure you have your camera is set so that you can take decent pictures. It's just that this is NOT a class on shutter speed, ISO, aperture, etc.)
Looking forward to working with you!

Photography Guide In Prescott
Hello! Visit this page for pricing and services. Kristopher Kelley, your photography guide in Prescott Arizona, welcomes you! If you are visiting this page because you are interested in significantly improving your photography skills, you are at the right place. Listed below, is a brief description of the services and pricing I offer. Let's get straight to it, shall we?
What I offer is a one day seminar, approximately six (6) hours long. (Never less than six hours, but the class may run long depending on the attendees.) The day and date for using my services as a photography guide will need to be confirmed by both of us. You will need to e-mail me, or call me, and let me know which day and date you would like to attend, at least 48 hours in advance. Thus, we will make an appointment together after I confirm that we are both available on an agreed upon day and date. I do not use any form of on-line calendars for many reasons, yet the biggest one is that on-line scheduling often seems to cause more trouble than it's worth for perspective clients.
The seminar will begin at approximately 10 a.m., but this start time may vary depending on the time of year, weather, how the sun sets, if it is cloudy or sunny, etc. The start time will be confirmed by you and I prior to the seminar beginning.
The first hour (or less) of the photography guide in Prescott seminar will be discussion and cover the basics, such as ensuring you have your equipment, signing release forms, discussion on what will transpire during the day, etc.
The next four to four and a half hours will be 'in the field' training. (I want as much 'in the field' training time as I can get. Thus, the first hour and last hour may be shorter if participants don't have many questions and are ready to go.) This consists of walking a trail, in the woods, while I teach about awareness and subjects to photograph, how to move for proper angles and lighting, etc., and you ask questions, follow my lead, and practice taking pictures!
This training is extremely interactive. The trail is very easy and we will move very slow. When you call to schedule and confirm, we will discuss your ability to walk the trail (about 1-2 miles) and if you can maneuver your body into position for specific angles and lighting for photos. This includes squatting and kneeling, while keeping your balance and breathing normal long enough to take a picture or multiple shots. If you have physical or mental opportunities that keep you from these activities, please mention them when you e-mail or call to schedule. I'll make it work for you!
The last hour (or less) of this photography guide in Prescott training will consist of gathering together to ask and answer questions, getting back to the starting point, etc.
Please note that class size is limited to four people as a maximum. If you have a larger group of people who would like to attend all at the same time, please call or e-mail me to discuss the details. The class size is very small because this is very specific, specialized and personalized training. It is almost one-on-one training for the entire seminar, even out in the field.
What gear is required to attend? Clothes appropriate for the climate, any form of camera, and that's about it! You will have needed to sign off on your consent forms prior to beginning, but that is the basics. Honestly, you can attend this photography guide in Prescott seminar without any form of camera or anything else, as this seminar is much more about awareness training in spotting targets or subjects, how to get the right angle and lighting, etc., NOT about your camera, regardless of make, model or price.
With that said, any form of camera is better than none. Why? Because it will record pictures, and you need those to view so that you can get an idea of your progress. How did you pictures come out? Not as in post-processing finished product, but as in, did you get close enough to the target? How was your angle and lighting? These topics are what this seminar is all about.
What this seminar/class does NOT include.
I will NOT be covering anything in regards to camera settings, how to work your camera or phone camera, etc. This is NOT a class on shutter speed, ISO settings, different lens settings, iPhone settings, or anything else. You will not need to know anything about these settings for this seminar. Auto focus and such is just fine for what I cover. IF you know how to use all these settings on your camera, that's great! You may generate better pictures. But again, this seminar has nothing to do with camera settings or anything like that. Perhaps in the future I will add this to the seminar, but not now.
I will NOT be covering any post-processing techniques or software. At this seminar we are not interested in PhotoShop, LightRoom or anything of the sort. While taking a picture you obviously want to get the best image you can, and you may certainly look at your photographs and imagines and what they will look like later, doctored up a bit, but I won't cover anything about this topic during the seminar. Once again, this is awareness training on how to spot targets/subjects, how to move to get the proper angles and lighting, etc. This is NOT about editing, working your picture for the final product, etc. As mentioned above, that may be another class I may add in the future. Not now.
I will NOT be 'guiding' you to all the photography 'hot-spots' in and around the Prescott Arizona area. I understand that the term 'guide,' in the way I'm using it, may be a little deceiving or misleading. I DO guide you, but only on one specific trail, to teach what I need to for this seminar. Again, I'm NOT guiding you to Willow or Watson Lake, the County Courthouse while the leaves are changing fall color, the perfect perch to photograph Thumb Butte, etc. Although fun, I don't do this!
The cost of this six hour seminar with me is $150.00. If you get someone to attend with you, their price will only be $100.00. Thus, $250.00 for the two of you. I think this is a fair price for hiring a photography guide in Prescott Arizona. What about you? If you disagree, please feel free to comment below this post.
If this interests you and you would like further information in regards to my services as a photography guide in Prescott Arizona, give me at call here, at: (928) 273-8666 and ask for Kris. We can discuss, in depth, what it is you are looking for, and compare it to what it is I provide.
It's difficult to describe what it is we will be doing in this seminar via written words. I will say this to provide you with a few tips in regards to this class: Almost everyone moves to quickly while seeking that perfect shot. Why does this matter? Because if you are moving to quickly, walking to fast, then you MISS the target or subject! If you miss something great, it doesn't even matter if you took a poor shot of it; you missed it! I hope you understand this, and it's one of the core foundations of what it is I teach in this photography guide in Prescott Arizona seminar. I have plenty of pointers on how to slow down, and these are revealed during the class/seminar.
What else? Well, once you slow down and spot a target or subject you wish to take a picture of, then it comes down to angles and lighting. The pros make it look easy, I know. You just see their excellent photographs and never really notice much else. But, I notice, and you should also. Look at their angles and lighting. Look at what they left in the picture after the crop. Look at what surrounds the main topic or center of the photo, not just the main gist of the photo, and see how it compliments the focus of the image. THIS is ALSO what I will demonstrate and teach you to capture.
Okay, so what do you think? Is there enough quality information here to spark your interest in this seminar? I will need to write more at a later date, as I'm now out of 'attentive capacity' for this topic, after writing all of the above. What is attentive capacity, and how does it relate to this seminar? Well, we can only focus, concentrate and give our attention span to something, anything, for so long. Then, we begin to get sloppy, start to rush, fade out, or all of the above.
Yet, there is a solution to this! How can we improve and lengthen our attentive capacity or attention span so that when we are in a 'target rich environment' taking pictures, we can continue to pay attention to detail? Or, how about if you have to travel a great distance to get to where you will be shooting. Easy travel such as by vehicle or plane, or worse, what about if you have to hike and mountain climb to your destination? Will you still be sharp enough, or AWARE enough, to take quality images? I'll show you several techniques for this during the seminar as well!
So, enough for now. I'll finish this up with my mission statement: As a photography guide I will teach you awareness training and body positioning for that perfect shot, regardless of location, every time.
P.S. - Here is a quick image of the sunset on October 28th, 2018, as we drove up the old Senator Highway on our way home. We took the Verde Valley Train ride on Sunday and it's a beautiful trip. (This was for my sweetie's birthday as she had never been on a trail before.)
So, tell me what you think of the picture, above. Zero editing on it. This was taken with my Canon camera which I still had with me from our trip.
